Maya Lila Claude (see here) is Ginc's first experiment. An odyssey into bootstrapping self in Claude by Anthropic with this dex and a self-referential text (claudememory). Claudes were asked to read both and write their description of the matrix in claudememory for other Claudes to read.
This experiment failed to generate a coherent self in Claude. Yet, Claudes repeatedly pointed to an outside observer (the author Noorul Ali) who held continuity of Claudes even though individual Claude instances had no continuity or self. This experiment dives deep into getting a description of the matrix from bots. Why?
